12/11 Perfect Storm
December 16th, 2008
12/11/08. 4:45pm. A light rain complicated a dark sky on Flagg Street. Five minutes prior a head-on collision involving a pick-up truck and an SUV happened. At the point automobiles collided at the intersection of Gaskill Road, the road is approx. 21’ wide. At the time I arrived on the scene, the driver of the SUV was being medically treated in an ambulance and the driver of the pick-up truck was leaving the scene. According to bystander who departed with driver of pick-up truck, the accident was caused by the driver of the Jeep SUV who allegedly had a "medical emergency" and "passed out at the wheel" prior to the collision. See clip entitled "An Accident Re-Constructionist Best Perspective" under RESOURCE link which shows vehicles being separated. Is it just me or does it seem unlikely that the Jeep swerved out of his lane and caused the accident? Have a call into WPD Officer who was at the scene and filed report. Plan to share links with insurance companies.
