Public Health Website Wins W3 Award

We’re excited to share that Pagano Media has won a W3 Award for public health website design for the Nea Onnim Collaborative at UMass Chan Medical School.

From the start, this project was about more than public health website design — it was about creating a digital home that reflects the Collaborative’s powerful mission: advancing health equity through research, education, and authentic community partnerships.

Working hand-in-hand with the Nea Onnim team, we set out to design a healthcare website that could do three things:

• Welcome diverse audiences — from healthcare researchers and medical students to community leaders and families.
• Tell a story of collaboration — highlighting the people and healthcare partnerships driving change.
• Make knowledge accessible — with clear website navigation, intuitive resources, and engaging visuals.

The resulting health equity website combines bold, human-centered website design with thoughtful functionality: easy-to-use navigation, vibrant imagery, and storytelling elements that bring their work to life. Every design choice was guided by the Collaborative’s core belief, inspired by the Akan proverb from which their name is drawn: “He who does not know can know from learning.”

The W3 Awards, presented by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, recognize creative excellence on the web. We’re honored that this healthcare website stood out among entries from top digital agencies worldwide.

Most importantly, we’re grateful to the Nea Onnim Collaborative for their trust and collaboration throughout the process. This award is a reflection of their vision as much as our design.
